Continuing with our focus for this half-term, in the last few weeks Year 3 have concentrated on athletics both indoors and outdoors. The students have been participating in a wide range of athletic activities, developing their skills in throwing, jumping, and running. In the throwing events, they practised target throwing, chest push, javelin, and shot put, learning to apply correct technique and maintain control. During the jumping activities, students enjoyed taking part in the speed bounce and long jump, where they were encouraged to improve their coordination, balance, and power. As part of their field events, the children also took responsibility for marking and officiating the results within their own groups. This not only supported their understanding of how events are scored but also helped them develop fairness, accuracy, and teamwork.
