Incredible Iron Age!

On Friday, we met a visitor from the Iron Age! Holly taught us how weave, how to make clay beaker pots, and how to grind wheat into flour using a rotary quern stone - key skills that we will definitely need if we take a trip in a time machine! Spectacular salsa - DT

In DT this term, we have been learning all about salsa. We learned about the different types of salsa, how it is made, and how we can safely chop the ingredients! Yesterday, it was time to finally make some salsa of our own! Thank you to our expert helpers who joined Apple Class :)

Marvellous money - maths

 For the last fortnight, Year 3 have been learning all about money, how to add pounds and pence, and (perhaps the trickiest of all) how to subtract to find change. In our final lesson, we roleplayed as shopkeepers and customers to practise our money subtraction skills.

Spring Term - Year 3 - Tennis & Inclusive Sports

As we have progressed through the spring term, with a focus on tennis and inclusive sport, the students have fully embraced the range of challenges, new activities, and variations of sport introduced to them. It has been particularly pleasing to see the progress made in tennis. Students have developed their fine motor skills, improved their hand-eye coordination, and shown a growing ability to apply tactical thinking within game situations. Their confidence and understanding of the sport have noticeably increased over the term. In addition to this, students have engaged positively with inclusive sports, demonstrating a strong willingness to adapt activities to ensure that everyone can participate. They have shown creativity and teamwork when exploring how sports can be made accessible for all, which has been a key focus of the term. Spring Term - Year 3 - Tennis & Inclusive Sports

Throughout this week, Year 3 have been continuing to build their understanding of inclusive sport, with a strong focus on participation, teamwork, and enjoyment for all. The students have taken part in a variety of activities, including football golf, different variations of rounders, volleyball, and a range of other engaging sports. These experiences have allowed them to explore how games can be adapted to suit different abilities and ensure everyone can take part confidently. As a result, the students have broadened their knowledge of sport and developed a clearer understanding of rules, tactics, and game play. They have also expanded their thinking, showing a growing awareness of how sports can be inclusive, as well as demonstrating improved cooperation and communication when working with others.
