Year 3 Blog 2025/26

 Fantastic DT this week! As part of our work on levers and linkages we had a go this week at making a linkage. We created the basic linkage and then added pictures so that we had something which moved. Everyone showed great resilience and fantastic skill in making their mechanisms. 

 As part of our work on mechanisms we had a go at making our own mechanism using a linkage . 

This week is Anti-bullying Week! In Year 3, we learned about online bullying. We discussed different apps and devices where bullying could happen to us, as well as places in the real world. We heard a story about someone being bullied online and thought about what the characters should do.  We each came up with three instructions that we will follow if we ever experience unkindness online: 1. Stop, walk away from your device. 2. Tell a trusted adult. 3. Block and delete the bully. We also came up with some actions to help us remember the three instructions!

A big WELL DONE to all of Year 3 for their hard work completing tests over the last fortnight. This was their first time completing assessments on chromebooks! We are very proud of the efforts of each and every one of our pupils.

 In maths this week we have been looking at subtracting from a 3 digit number crossing ten. This means that we have been practising exchanging. 

 Year 3 started their new topic all about Songs and games. In this weeks French lesson we learnt about the emotions and how to say them in French- sticky knowledge.We listened to the farmer in the dell in French and in English. We learnt how to say the words in French, then we did a Matching activity.
