  Today in RE we learnt about the Hindu festival of Holi . We learnt about the story behind Holi and how Hindus celebrate. We learnt that Holi celebrates the truimph of good over evil. We also learnt about how Hindus celebrate Holi. 

Year 3 - Spring Term - Gymnastics & Hockey 🀸‍♀️πŸ’

Year 3 have made excellent progress in gymnastics this term and have come on in leaps and bounds. They have developed a strong foundation of knowledge and understanding, particularly in their use of correct gymnastics terminology. Throughout their lessons, students have learnt how to perform a wide range of movements including leaps, jumps, rolls and balances, with a clear understanding of points of contact on the floor. They have also explored travelling movements and learned how to use a variety of equipment and apparatus to adapt, develop and enhance their final performances with confidence and creativity. In hockey, Year 3 have also focused on building the core fundamentals of the game. They have worked hard on ball control, correct stick handling, teamwork, dribbling and shooting techniques. In addition to outdoor field hockey, students have also been given the opportunity to experience indoor hockey and ice hockey (without the ice!) as a way of adapting skills and exploring ...

PSHE

 This week in PSHE we used the book of Beegu to think about the idea of outsiders. We talked about how Beegu felt as an outsider and thought about what we could do to help people feel like they belong. 

Geography

 This week in geography we combined our art topic of collage with our geography topic by making collages of volcanos! We worked in pairs to create collages of volcanos and then labelled the features of the volcano using our geographic vocabulary such as magma chamber, secondary vent, main vent, crater and ash and gas. 

French: months of the year

We started off revising months of the year and sang the numbers song. We also ordered numbers from 20 - 31. We also learnt to say how old we are.
