Year 3 - Spring Term - Gymnastics & Hockey

This week, Year 3 have begun to develop a strong understanding of their new curriculum focus areas; Gymnastics and Hockey.

In Gymnastics, students have been working on point hold balances and learning how to link these balances together to create structured sequences. They progressed from holding individual balances to collaborating in pairs and small groups to perform partner and group balance holds. Throughout the lessons, students were encouraged to use and understand new gymnastics terminology, including counter-balancegripsequence, and transition, helping to develop both their physical skills and subject-specific vocabulary.

Year 3 showed excellent enthusiasm and engagement during these lessons, demonstrating confidence, creativity, and teamwork. They had the opportunity to perform their sequences to both their peers and teachers, showcasing their progress and reflecting positively on their learning.

Overall, it has been a very productive and enjoyable week, with students showing great effort and a willingness to challenge themselves.
