Year 3 - Spring Term - Gymnastics & Hockey 🀸‍♀️πŸ’

Year 3 have continued to build on their skills and confidence in both hockey and gymnastics this week.

In hockey, students have been developing their ball control and improving their spatial awareness through a range of progressive activities. They have begun to explore simple game-based scenarios, encouraging them to think tactically and make decisions during play. These activities are designed to gradually prepare them for participating in full match situations. Some Year 3 pupils have also had the opportunity to experience indoor hockey, where they used rebound boards to control and redirect the ball, promoting creativity, quick reactions and problem-solving in a more tactile environment.

In gymnastics, students have continued to expand their knowledge and understanding by incorporating apparatus, such as benches, into their work. They have been creating choreographed routines that include a wider variety of rolls, leaps and balances. Students focused on combining these movements smoothly and with control, developing both their coordination and confidence as they worked towards completing a full sequence.
