Summer 2 Term - Year 3 - Athletics, Field Games & Dance
This half-term, Year 3 have been focusing on Athletics during their outdoor PE lessons. They have been developing their skills across a range of track events, including short, middle and long distance races, as well as participating in a variety of field events. Indoors, the children have been taking part in activities inspired by QuadKids, including Grand Prix style events that have helped to develop their speed, agility and overall athletic ability.
Alongside Athletics, Year 3 have also been exploring a variety of striking and fielding games, including different styles of Rounders. We have also been fortunate to welcome a special guest from Australia, Ethan, who has been introducing the children to Cricket. Through these sessions, pupils have been developing their skills, understanding and appreciation of the sport. Ethan will continue to support several lessons throughout the remainder of the academic year.
With International Day approaching, Year 3 have also been learning a range of cultural dances to broaden their understanding and appreciation of dance from around the world. In particular, they have been focusing on Italy, our school's chosen country, and have been learning a traditional Italian dance which they will perform as part of the celebrations.
